Brice Bischoff

Brice is a friend i made while in Louisiana, his work has always inspired me. His work has both a since of humor and a depth to them. He is also very good at taking painterly photographs, and I am a huge fan of painterly photographs.
ayy girl studios
i’d like to give an internet shout out to my boys at ayy girl studios.
“For consumers of high end portraits only ayy gurl studios can provide evocative and emotionally charged iamges because we at ayy gurl studios say so…Holla”

Alec Soth
Alec Soth is my other favorite contemporary photographer. One of the reasons i am drawn to his work is that he has a very specific aesthetic. He could photograph anything in a way that you could look at the image and know that it was decisively taken by him. Also, his work is just fantastic and he picks incredible subject matter.
He also has an incredible blog which is one of the few things i check daily on the internet.

Corey Arnold

Corey Arnold is an Alaskan crab fisherman not to mention a totally badass photographer. He is also a crew member on the Rollo, the fishing boat featured on the Discovery Channel’s program The Deadliest Catch
His photographs from the Bering Sea are totally incredible.
david hilliard

David Hilliard is one my two favorite contemporary photographers.
I think his panoramic photographs are incredible because not only do they make a successful composition when viewed in order, but also each image functions as its own composition independently. Each picture serves as a different focal point and focal plane. This allows him to guide the viewer through each photograph, directing their eye to what he wants them to focus on.

Pamela Pecchio
Pamela Pecchio was one of my favoirte teachers in undergrad. I find her work to be incredibly smart and beautiful.

Alessandra Sanguinetti
Alessandra Sanguinetti spent five years working photographing two cousins she met in the remote farmlands of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Here are some of the resulting images from the series which she called The Adventures of Guille and Belinda and the Enigmatic Meaning of Their Dreams :

born enough
“We can never be born enough. We are human beings; for whom birth is a supremely welcome mystery, the mystery of growing: the mystery that happens only and whenever we are faithful to ourselves.” - e.e. cummings
